"Japan as Number One" - I remember in my 7th grade Spanish class, the teacher was so convinced that we would all be working for the Japanese after graduating from high school that instead of teaching Spanish, he brought in his Japanese neighbor to teach us the rudiments of the language. And possibly to inspire in us a reverence for our new overlords. That was undoubtedly my first taste of the bento box.
